The existing Dauterive Hospital Cath Lab underwent minor renovations in late 2007 to make room for the Innova 3100.
This state-of-the-art, digital X-ray equipment allows physicians to detect and treat cardiac and vascular diseases by giving them a clear view of the anatomy of the heart and blood vessels throughout the body, even down to the finest vessels in the finger tips.
Physicians are able to see minute details on digital flat screens to safely maneuver even the smallest medical devices including catheters, stents and guidewires during procedures like balloon angioplasties and vascular interventions.
Diagnosis, and in some cases, treatment are now possible within the same procedure, courtesy of the Innova 3100; thus, the stress and inconvenience of having to undergo several procedures is virtually eliminated.
In short, there is less risk, pain and stress for the patient. Radiation exposure, recovery times and procedure expenses also are reduced.
